ESSAYS
I have tried, and failed, to break up with this city. Any city. Particularly this one. Yet lately it feels like it might be the only tendrils holding me together. The noise. The clutter. The sadness.
And that fucking sky...
I assumed that the absolute fluorescent light that is a partner would turn it all off … all of the noise.

The foreign feeling of spending the holidays without some (or all) of the loved ones we normally surround ourselves with, can come and sit on your shoulders like a lead jacket. Does it make it any easier to know that most humans on Earth also had to suspend their patterns and forgo the lovely feeling of seeing their family?
I have sat down to write even the briefest of thoughts about Gary Ellis Fossett at least once a week since his passing. Finally, months later, it comes out.
That fear and frustration that used to catch my elbows at the bend lives inside of my jaw now. I am helpless to the vice that feels like it is trying to pry my teeth from their gummy homes one by one, starting from the back.
TRAVEL
We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows, and breathed in all of the calming coolness of the evening. She is truly a sight to behold. Both the park, and the woman I cannot wait to marry, and find myself always gleeful to share these moments with.
Coming from a young place--Canada is only just celebrating its 150th year as a nation--I was in awe at every turn during my short time in London.
GAMES & TECH
A game about tiny beings, building bug-like mechs to battle crawlers, collect resources and explore their world. I cannot begin to express how astounding and wonderful this little minuscule universe is.
The sword that is Watch Dogs: Legion — the third game in the Watch Dogs (no more underscore) franchise by Ubisoft’s Toronto studio — is sharp on two sides. It brings plenty of aspects to love for both fans of the series, and folks that may have previously written it off.
Escapism is one hell of a drug. Come hither, introverts. Be prepared to bask, creatives. Even city-slickers seek moments of peril-less zen. The act of escaping allows us (the human race) to sit within extra time — the concept of minutes and hours slows or expands without the hustle of a metropolitan system — and just simply be.
There’s something special about following the development of a video game and patiently — or impatiently — awaiting its arrival. Ooblets has been on the forefront of the indie game world for years, as gamers, fans of the adorable, and wholesome aficionados continued to watch the game grow. Pun intended.
Easy to learn, hard to master, is the key takeaway from Skate City. You can spend hours zoning into these real-world famous skateboarding locations masterfully and lovingly remade for an endlessly side-scrolling level. Or, you can obsess over every inch of those touch controls and become a truly virtuoso finger flicker.
POETRY
My eyes were heavy, being difficult in my desire to remain cognizant of my surroundings while I wandered a city that had only just welcomes me with a familiar feel.
It's a crazy place we live in. An insane time, a foolish generation, and a remarkably dreary society. Only compounded and multiplied by my lack of ability to focus on the light.
The weary of the world dress for success in wonder of a wonderful ending. Ever the optimistic pessimist, with narcissistic tendencies, I run rampant through the sewers of dread.
